Tungsten carbide is MUCH tougher than the majority of metals and it doesn't scratch (only shatters under extreme force). It's a little deeper gray (typical tungsten color) than the photo shows and is heavier than gold, but still reflects light beautifully. I'm VERY particular about my rings and this ring did not disappoint at all. It fits true to size and is comfortable to wear. The first day I wore this band, two people noticed the switch and commented on how nice it looked. You can't beat the price at $30 either. Very happy with the product and the purchase!
